Benefits of an Expungement

A criminal record can be embarrassing. It also makes it hard to find a great job, get admitted to a college or university, earn a professional license, get a housing lease, and more.

The good news is, there may be something you can do about it. An expungement can help you with:

  • Employment

  • Education

  • Protecting your privacy

  • Housing

  • Licensing

  • Government Assistance

  • Adoption

  • Volunteering

  • Loans & Insurance

Expungement Types

Full
Expungement

A “Full” expungement will take your charges and court disposition off of oscn.net and On Demand Court Records, along with sealing the associated arrest records. It will completely get rid of the incident (arrest, charges, and court disposition) on your OSBI background check. "Full" expungements allow you to legally and honestly deny the expunged incident ever occurred. It erases your criminal history and fully cleans your slate.

Partial
Expungement

A “Partial” expungement is only available for someone who has successfully completed a deferred sentence. It will take your charges and court disposition off of oscn.net and On Demand Court Records, but will not get rid of your arrest records. The incident will remain on your OSBI background check, but the case disposition will now say, “pled not guilty, case dismissed.” You will still need to disclose the incident on job applications and interviews if asked. Partial expungements are a good temporary measure until you’re eligible for a full expungement.

Protective Order Expungement

Protective Order expungements will take the incident off of oscn.net and On Demand Court Records and allow you to legally and honestly deny the expunged incident ever occurred.

What past clients are saying:

“My felony was young, stupid stuff from 27 years ago. I wanted to start working with the local Sheriff’s Department to mentor kids and run for the School Board. Clean Slate Law made it a whole lot easier than I ever expected. I wish I would have done it sooner!”

— Kelly F.

“I was trying to get a job after getting laid off. I had a really good opportunity, but the background check came back and they explained that my drug offense would not allow them to hire me. Clean Slate Law was absolutely AWESOME and easy to work with. They helped me expunge four charges.”

— Douglas M.

“I was having difficulty getting employment and didn’t recognize that it was because of my past. Riley at Clean Slate Law made it personal, and through it all, I could tell that he genuinely cares about the outcome of his clients.”

- L. Caldwell - 53-year-old recovering addict, 13 years sober
